Welcome to Dundalk St Gerard’s AC.
We are a vibrant, predominantly juvenile athletic club based in the Dundalk area. Established in 1982, we are an affiliated club of the Athletic Association of Ireland (AAI), Athletics Leinster and Athletics Louth. We welcome new members from 7 years old upwards, subject to capacity in the appropriate training groups. ☀️ DARVER DELIVERS A CROSS COUNTRY DAY TO REMEMBER! 🏃♀️🏃♂️
Darver in October is usually known for its windy, cold and challenging conditions — sometimes it feels like one of the coldest places on Earth! 🌬️🥶 But yesterday, Sunday October 12th the sun came out to play, and the conditions were absolutely incredible for a fantastic day of cross country running! ☀️👏
A huge congratulations to all our athletes representing Dundalk St. Gerard’s AC, from our youngest Under-8s right through all the age groups and up to our senior(citizen) athletes. ❤️🤍
You often hear that cross country racing builds resilience and character, and after competing myself yesterday, that really hit home. There’s something special about cross country racing — how challenging it can be, how much it asks of you, and just how rewarding it feels to cross that finish line.
Whether it’s finishing a tough race, earning a team medal or stepping onto the podium, every achievement means something. Behind those moments are the weeks and months of training, the early mornings, the tough sessions and the commitment to keep showing up, week in and week out. Those medals and finish-line smiles are a true reflection of all that hard work. 💪🏃
It was also brilliant to see so many athletes giving it their all, supporting one another and enjoying their running. As was mentioned over the microphone yesterday, it’s particularly fantastic to see our athletes proudly representing their club, wearing the club colours with pride and, most importantly, doing it all with smiles on their faces.
That’s what club athletics is all about!
Huge thank you to Saint Peters Athletic Club for putting on a great day.
And a massive thank you to all the parents and families who brought the kids along, supported from the sidelines and gave up their Sunday to make these events possible.
Your support means so much to the club. 👏

Yesterday marked the penultimate cross country event of the year, and with the winter months approaching, we look forward to the indoor season and the return of more cross country in January 2027.
Enjoy the winter training, keep working hard, keep supporting each other, and most importantly, keep enjoying your athletics!

🏃♂️ Louth Even Age Cross Country Championships
Another fantastic day for Dundalk St Gerard’s AC in Bellurgan Park.
We had athletes from age 6 and 7 all the way up to our cross country coach and club stalwart Pete whose age is a mystery.
Our athletes gave it everything on a tough course, showing great determination, team spirit and plenty of fighting spirit from the start line right through to the finish. ❤️🤍
Great to see so many kids out racing and having fun !!
A massive well done to every one of our athletes who pulled on the red and white bib and represented the club so proudly.
And, as always, a huge thank you to all our parents. 👏 Your time, travelling, early starts, encouragement around the course and continued support make these days possible.
The club simply couldn’t do it without you.
A big thank you also to Glenmore AC and Athletics Louth for hosting a brilliant day’s racing.
Next weekend we are on again in Darver for the uneven age Championships.

Today at 11:00 AM, we hit a massive milestone for athletics in our town as we hosted our very first session on the brand-new 400-metre track! 🏆✨
Equipped with top-class facilities for running, high jump, long jump, and throwing events, this state-of-the-art facility is something members of Dundalk St Gerard’s AC some of our committee, and past club legends have waited over 40 years to see.
It was an incredible morning seeing so many kids out on the track—smiling, having fun, and getting to work! The future of local athletics is right here, and the kids with us today are so lucky to have a place like this to train and develop.
This was Session #1, and there are so many more to come. The future looks brighter than ever for Dundalk and St. Gerard’s AC! 🌟🏃♀️
