    🔴⚪️ National Recognition for Tara O’Connor! ⚪️🔴

Huge congratulations to our very own Tara O’Connor, who was honored this past weekend at the 2025 Athletics Ireland National Juvenile All-Star Awards in the Mullingar Park Hotel. 🏆✨

Tara was presented with the prestigious Eamon Gilbert Award for High Jump and Pole Vault, marking her as the standout athlete in her discipline across the entire country for the 2025 season.

This is a massive testament to Tara’s hard work and consistency, especially as it marks the second consecutive year she has won this national award. This “double” win highlights the incredible standard she has set and shows just how consistent our training and commitment to High Jump has been 🇮🇪

A proud day for Tara, her family, and everyone here at Dundalk St Gerard’s AC seeing her recognised among the elite rising stars of Irish Athletics is a reminder that the sky really can be the limit. ☁️🚀

We are incredibly proud to have Tara representing the club ⚪️🔴
She is a fantastic role model for our young athletes.
    Congratulations, Tara! 👏🙌

    🔥 Dundalk St. Gerard’s AC – National Indoor Finals Wrap-Up! 🔥
What a way to finish the final day of the 2026 Juvenile Indoor National Finals in Athlone

Our athletes once again proved that Dundalk is the true home of multi-sport excellence! ✨

🥇 Calvin McCourt: The Triple Threat! 🥇
He’s done it again! After taking Gold in the Long Jump and Silver in the Sprint, Calvin returned to the sand to dominate the U15 Boys Triple Jump.
    Result: 🥇 1st Place – National Champion!
    Distance: 11.18m

Calvin walks away from this year’s Indoor Nationals with an incredible 3-medal haul (2 Golds & 1 Silver).
A massive early-season statement from an athlete who is quickly becoming one of the most versatile stars in the country! ⚡️🥈🥇🥇

☄️ Jenny Hawe – U18 Girls Shot Put
Jenny flew the flag for the club on Day 3 and put in a massive performance against the best in Ireland.
    Result: 6th in Ireland 🇮🇪
    Achievement: A huge New PB!

Finishing top 6 in the country with a personal best is exactly what the big stage is all about. Great work, Jenny! 👏

🚀 Cian Rafferty – Another Multi Sport Talent.
Cian has had a busy National campaign! Today, he took to the skies in the U12 High Jump, finishing Joint 5th in Ireland with a jump of 1.25m (just 3cm off his PB!). This adds to his brilliant performance from weekend 1, where he made the 60m Sprint Finals, finishing 6th.
To be top 6 in Ireland in both a sprint and a jump is phenomenal! 🏃‍♂️💨

It’s no secret that Dundalk is becoming the hub for multi-eventers. With club legend Kate O’Connor leading the way, our young athletes are proving they can do it all – jump, throw, and run.

These results are even more incredible when you consider the lack of an indoor training facility in Dundalk, our crew spent the winter battling the rain and wind – These medals aren’t just about talent; they show true grit. 🌧️💪

Massive congrats to all the athletes, coaches, and parents. The hard work has paid off.

Next up for the club is the Louth Pre Championships on Sunday 19th April – Open to athletes from U8 the whole way through.

The Coaches from Dundalk St Gerards would love to see as many kids as possible taking part and trying something new…

We are incredibly proud of Rebecca Trimble and Calvin McCourt, who both received Athletics Leinster All Star awards at a special function in Carlow recently. This prestigious recognition comes on the back of an outstanding 2025 season in Leinster competition for both Rebecca and Calvin.

Rebecca’s 2025 highlights kicked off with Leinster Gold and National Bronze in the All Ireland Combined Events.

At the Leinster Indoor Championships, Rebecca delivered a superb series of performances, claiming double Gold in the High Jump and Hurdles and Silver in the Triple Jump.

She carried that momentum into the Leinster Outdoor Track and Field Championships where she once again showcased her talent and consistency securing Gold in High Jump and Hurdles as well as Bronze in the Triple Jump. She also went on to win 7 national medals across multiple events throughout 2025.

Calvin picked up his third Leinster Star Award in a row, an incredible achievement. In the 2025 Leinster Indoors, Calvin took Bronze in combined events. He also secured Bronze in Shot Put and Gold in the 60m Sprint. The icing on the cake was landing Gold in the Pole Vault with Championships Record.

Calvin’s form also continued to the Leinster Outdoors where he picked up Bronze in the Combined Events. He was only getting started there as he went on to secure Gold in the Sprint with another Championships Record, Gold in the Long Jump and yet another Gold in the Javelin.

Massive congratulations to both Rebecca and Calvin on their outstanding achievements and richly deserved recognition from Athletics Leinster. Fingers crossed for another incredible year for both talented athletes in the 2026 Indoor and Outdoor seasons.
